4 lbs down! Yay me!

I know I said I was starting my diet (yet again) last Monday but in fact I only started on the Wednesday. Either way I am thrilled to announce that I am 4 lbs down this morning. While that sounds great of course, I was actually 6 lbs down on Sunday morning but back up again on Monday so as you can see, I really am up and down like a yo yo - which I put down to water retention of course. Still, I'm more than happy with that and I was very good about eating and exercising too last week so yay me! Sunday I kind of went off the rails as I was hungry for something but didn't seem to be able to figure out just what but never mind, back on track now. It's easier to get back in the swing of things when I am at work in any case because there is a discipline about the routine but we'll see what this week holds. In order to feel like I have achieved anything I need to lose about 7 lbs and keep it off so the next couple of weeks will be telling!

Yesterday I had the first day of one of my large meetings (the second day is Wednesday) and it was quite amazing how many steps I clock up on my fitbit when I have these meetings. No worries there about getting in my 10,000 steps a day! Just goes to show how a sedentary lifestyle can really mess with you doesn't it!

Anyway, I'm a bit rushed this week so just in case I don't check in again with you, I hope you all have a lovely Easter and here's to spring being just around the corner!

  1. Well done on your loss of pounds! I go up and down 2 lbs...nothing we women can really do about it. When hubby does live sales training for our clients he sometimes does 20000 steps a day just from walking around the room with them (he is also Type A personality, that might have something to do with it). I blew my steps this weekend but it was impossible to do them while traveling and not touring sites, just visiting family. Only did 7000 yesterday and 6500 day before. Today I start back though...plus we decided after having a final beer at the airport that we will try and do a dry month before our trip so we can lose a pound or two and prepare our bodies/livers for indulging in Italian and French goodies.

    1. Yep that's women for you I guess. Or in my case hormones AND water retention. Of course it's great when the pounds fly off but the opposite can be a bit disheartening. On a normal day I do about 6,500 steps but when the meetings come around I can double that. I guess the solution is change job or retire then right? I'll go with retire!

    1. I was always tiny and only weighed 57 kg when I got pregnant last time. Then zoomed up to 80 kg at the end of my pregnancy (I looked like a rubrik's cube) BUT I lost it all again no problem. It kinda hit home when I recently hit 80 kg and I definitely ain't pregnant! Yikes!

    2. Your weights are almost exactly the same as mine! 57 before pregnancy, 72 was my max pregnancy weight and back down to 57. The last few years I packed on the kilos and hit 80 last year. I've dropped a couple but I really like my food so keeping it off will be tricky

  3. Good for you. I hope I'm rewarded. I've been very good with food-well, moderatley good with food, and have been moving like crazy. though I have had poor sleep and supposedly the calories burn better wih a proper functioning body.

    1. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. It is disheartening when we really do try hard and there seems to be no result. I guess usually the result comes the following week though doesn't it.

    1. Thanks Anne. I didn't dare weigh myself this morning just in case it had gone back up again - it definitely is a downer for me when that happens. I know I shouldn't weigh myself so often but ...

  5. That's great! I definitely agree trying to lose a few pounds is a rollercoaster ride! I've targeted April 1st as the day to get my eating back on track. I weighed myself last week for the first time in ages and I was pleasantly surprised. I've still been staying away from refined sugar and while progress is slow it is steady. No Easter eggs this year!!
