A few years ago I used to follow CNN for US news until I realized I was getting sick of reading about the news all the time in whatever country so I stopped. I also stopped reading a few UK sites also as I think I was beginning to overdose. For the period of the US elections though I've gone back to watching CNN although yet again I'll be glad when "I can stop" (as if I couldn't stop any time I want right)? But the other night the CNN weather report was on and I realized they were showing a picture taken from near where I used to work looking out over Lake Geneva towards where I live - and of course it was a beautiful picture. I couldn't find the exact picture but this one is pretty much on spot. While I don't live in the fancy homes right on the lake obviously, it was fun to see "my home" on TV all the same!
My home is off to the right, in front of the lower mountain! Sadly I couldn't find where to attribute it! |
I don't normally like to stare at something like that (because I've been burned by my sister so many times - usually as you peer at it the face turns into a screaming skeleton or something like that...)! But I figured you're not mean, so I did it and saw a colored picture of the woman. Who thinks of this stuff?
ReplyDeleteYou got it, I think it's the original picture as opposed to the negative that you can see here. It's clever isn't it!
DeleteOh my-could be my older daughter! I am so sick of the new, the politics, and mostly fearful that this nightmare may continue of having the most inept, corrupt, and embarrassing administration ever.
ReplyDeleteHa, that's probably why you were able to see it, if the picture looks like your daughter right! And I think we're all ready for this pandemic to be over aren't we!
DeleteI tried but could not see without my glasses and when I put them on could not stare without blinking. Then finally all I saw was a really cute girl.
ReplyDeleteIt's clever isn't it (finally - glasses an' all)!
DeleteI couldn't stare without blinking I expect its because I wear a contact lens and my right eye would dry out. But yes its very clever. How our brains can deceive us is incredible.

DeleteI found it hard to stare without blinking at first - I'm still looking for my eyeball though!
DeleteIt's so refreshing to see a picture of Mike Pence running from the truth. I didn't see anything.
ReplyDeleteI think it must be election overloud but honestly the only thing I thought when I saw that clip was "Only Fools and Horses"!
DeleteI've now banned hubby from watching the news on a loop! I don't watch tv news as much as I can help. I still seem to get most of the news one way or another though, I seem to inhale it somewhere!
ReplyDeleteYep, I saw the full colour version of the girl! The brain is a bit scary at times!
Geneva is a beautiful city isn't it. I wouldn't want to live there but its lovely to visit. x
I've watched more news recently than ever before, I suppose with covid and the incredibly contentious US elections. I'll be glad when both are over! I'm glad you saw the girl - and you're right, the human brain is an amazing thing isn't it!
