And I thought winter was over!!!

I had an appointment set up for today to get my winter tyres switched to summer tyres but when I woke up the electricity was off and I looked out my window to see this. Damn!

Actually that wasn't the half of it as it snowed most of the morning, so I would guess we got about eight inches in all, judging by the state of my car. The garage just laughed when I called them to cancel the appointment - obviously they were up to their eyeballs in snow too. Still, it didn't last too much longer as the electric came back on (and hence the heating), the sun came out and the roads are (finally) looking pretty decent again after the snow plough came round. Hopefully most of it will be gone by morning, although I understand getting to work was, once again, a laugh a minute for most people!

  1. That was a shock, those days are thankfully behind us here. Now to gage when to plant my annual flowers and veggies here...

    1. I forgot to mention that I had just gone "seedling" shopping and over the past few days had potted up and planted out a few plants!!! Luckily not the tomato and lettuce plants - I have been moving them in and out of the kitchen. I hate to think I might have killed the other stuff by putting them out too early! Darn it! I know full well that round here they say not to plant out before mid-May but do I listen? Do I flip!

    1. We can routinely get snow in April but it seemed like it was over for this year. We got heavy snow in May one time (broke my awning!!!) but yes rolling over in bed and turning the alarm off felt pretty good that day!

    1. I bet! And I don't mind it actually as long as it doesn't hang around too long - as was the case this time!
