Fake heiress Anna Sorokin deported!

It's weird that I just wrote about her a couple of days ago and then tonight I read that she's been deported back to Germany. I think they made the right decision because I, for one, believe she would only just continue her cons if they allowed her to remain in the US. Look out Germany, I guess!

    1. The series is pretty good actually, although the actress' accent is annoying!

    1. That's odd because I heard about her months (years? ago, although I'm not sure how!

  3. There was a bit of confusion by her attorney who believed she had been deported early. I guess she's been fighting it, probably because the German's are not so easily impressed with American bullshit.

    1. I doubt she'll get away with any more BS in Germany, if only because she is now well known, although I don't doubt she will come up with another scam - "celebrity circuit", "married at first sight", "I'm a celebrity, get me out of here". I guess that's the problem with today's "celebrity" culture!

  4. I watched the Netflix series. Was not impressed. Found her very annoying and now seeing and hearing her for real, I think that even more. lol. Too bad, so sad. Play stupid games. Win stupid prizes. :-/

    1. She was annoying in the series wasn't she, so maybe I was wrong and the actress actually did a good job! Oh and I have no pity for her of course, but I don't think her con tricks will stop there!

  5. My BFF living in the US and I are watching the Netflix show. We watched The Serpent earlier and this one is actually a breather after that. I like Julia Garner a lot. Have you watched her in Ozark? That is a crazy show. I am almost at the end of the 1st season but, I think I had enough of it already. As for the real con artist, I don't know how she will survive now that everybody knows her.

    1. I haven't seen Ozark so thanks for the recommendation. And I watched The Serpent a few months ago - it had me on the edge of my seat!!!

  6. Thank you for your comment on my blog - you are indeed quite near to my house in Le Biot south of Thonon les Bains. I go there to walk and to write whenever I can. How lucky am I is what I always feel - made more so by all the troubles of the wider world.
It is good to have breaks from the news and social media especially - I once did so for almost two years (a long story that sort of changed my life in many small ways)
And I notice in your blog profile you say that you write things down for later - yes, I do too - but also perhaps because it helps to clarify what we think and say today.
Enough - I go on as always...

    1. Hallo there - and thanks for stopping by! I know Thonon fairly well (that's where I take my club's sewing machines to be serviced) - it's a beautiful spot isn't it. In fact, I must try to walk more in the valley between Samoëns (near me) and down to Morzine (nearer you), as I don't know it very well. It is, indeed, the perfect spot to just shut the world out, isn't it!

  7. I haven't watched the Netflix program about her yet but I did watch the Tinder Swindler. I guess she is a con artist too. I'll put it on my list. These people seem so clever if only they used their brains to the greater good!

    1. With The Tinder Swindler my thought was that they were young, beautiful women and didn't need an eejit like that in their lives - so he was obviously very good at what he did - i.e. con people! The one that really made my blood run cold, for some reason, though was The Puppet Master!
