Someone on FB traffic alerts posted a meme to the effect "ha ha to those that took their snow tyres off last week" - and boy was it appropriate! It started snowing yesterday evening, snowing all night and day to leave about an eight inch dump on my car by yesterday morning. The roads didn't look too bad but since I didn't have to go out I thought I may as well stay home. Then this morning I set off to meet up with Jen to go to a bourse for children's stuff as she was looking for a child gate and me - well I just wanted to play with Charlie and drive him nuts (it worked)! I pushed all the snow off my car with a large broom and the roads were pretty much ok - or at least until I got almost to their place and my rear end (the car, not me) spun out on a sheet of black ice as I was going round a traffic island. It shook me up a bit but all was hunky dory in the end when I got the car straightened up, so no harm done. When I got to Jordan and Jen's place I mentioned that I would stop up at André's place afterwards as I had received another letter from the bank for him, and that was when Jordan mentioned that dad hadn't made it to Portugal on Friday as planned and that things were maybe a little "tense" up there! Oh dear, so a leopard doesn't change it's spots then. I might write more about it tomorrow but again, did I ever mention how glad I am to be divorced?

Our snow is finally almost gone thank goodness. I'm so thankful I'm divorced from my first husband too. So tired of his crap.
ReplyDeleteYou know how you sometimes wonder if they change, well I guess they don't. I feel sorry for André as he thought he was getting this week off. Don't get me wrong, he loves his dad but it will definitely blow up because he's just such a permanent manufacturer of chaos!

ReplyDeleteHa ha, the second picture is up at a ski resort about 40 minutes from me so for them it's a good thing as the season lasts that bit longer. For us the temperatures should go up again this week so I'm sure it'll melt quickly - although that black ice took me by surprise, I have to admit!

ReplyDeleteHe's only been here a week and they wouldn't let him board the flight to Portugal because his "covid papers" weren't in order, but wouldn't you think he'd have checked that bit first (he's fully vaccinated)! There's more but I'll have to write about it later!

DeleteWe got a dusting of snow in Toronto on Friday. I think I will keep my winters on til end of the month. Can't say I blame you for taking them off. As for the ex, oh boy - sending good vibes to André that he makes it through the visit!
ReplyDeleteAt this point, to be honest, however much snow gets dumped round here we know it will only last a couple of days so nah, it'll be ok!

ReplyDeleteI was pretty leery about a few of the roads round here but not that one, to be honest, so I guess it took me by surprise. As for my ex, well what can I say, you always think they will change for the better but ...!

ReplyDeleteHa, I remember getting a HUGE snow dump one year on 5 May and it took out my awning! Still, this late in the season we know it won't last. The good thing is that it can extend the ski season for the local resorts!
